About Kim

Kim Skilling R.P.C. M.P.C.P. M.B.A.C.P.

I am a Master Practitioner in counselling under the Canadian Professionals Counselling Association, and a Senior Accredited Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy with 20 years of experience. I run a private practice in West Vancouver , and I am a Family Therapist for an agency in New Westminster , where in both roles I work with individuals, couples and families of all ages, and with a variety of issues.

My training and experience have exposed me to working with diverse clientele, both culturally and economically. My private practice has involved direct counselling for clients, but as a trained supervisor I have also worked with and guided trainees and accredited counsellors and therapists. I have developed a counselling program for parents and children, and worked as a counsellor in schools with young people ages eleven to eighteen.

Throughout my career I have found that regardless of the presenting problems, most clients share a desire to understand their relationship with themselves and others. I work with the client to look at issues affecting their relationships and the quality of their life. By exploring these issues in a safe, supportive and empowering environment we work together towards resolution. My philosophy is to promote and support ongoing personal growth and improve well-being by building a trusted client relationship.
